Papua Bukan Tanah Kosong means “Papua Is Not Empty Land.”

Across West Papua, Indigenous communities are facing increasing pressure from deforestation, land seizure, large-scale plantation projects, resource exploitation, and militarisation. Too often, their ancestral territories are treated as empty spaces on a map—lands available to be claimed, cleared, and transformed without recognising the people who have protected and depended on them for generations.

But Papua is not empty land.

The land carries history. It provides food, medicine, shelter, and identity. It holds the stories of ancestors, the knowledge of Indigenous communities, and the cultural traditions passed down from one generation to the next. The forests, rivers, mountains, and coastlines are not separate from the people—they are part of who they are.

The PBTK Collection by House of Papua is a statement of recognition, resistance, and respect. It honours the communities who continue to defend their land, culture, and right to determine their own future.

Their land is not an empty space on the map.
It is their history, their culture, their livelihood, and their future.
